The megohmmeter is designed to measure the electrical resistance of the DC insulation of non-energized electrical circuits, to diagnose the condition of the insulation, and to determine the presence of AC voltage.
The megaohmmeter is manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the Technical Regulation of legally regulated measuring equipment (hereinafter – the Technical Regulation), approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 13.01.2016 No. 94, DSTU EN 61557-2 Electrical safety of low-voltage distribution networks with a voltage of up to 1000 V AC and 1500 V direct current. Equipment for testing, measuring or monitoring safety devices. Part 2. Insulation resistance, DSTU EN 61326-1 Electrical equipment for measurement, control and laboratory applications. Requirements for electromagnetic compatibility. Part 1. General requirements and DSTU EN 61010-1.
Technical characteristics
The reading range of the megohmmeter is from 0 to 200 GΩ. If the measured insulation resistance is greater than 200 GΩ, the display will show R > 200 GΩ.
The measuring voltage of the megohmmeter is from 100 V to 2500 V with a resolution of 50 V.
Insulation resistance measurement range from 500 kΩ to 100. GΩ on sub-ranges:
- from 500 kΩ to 1.GΩ at a measuring voltage from 100 V to 950 V;
- from 2.5 MΩ to 100. GΩ at a measuring voltage from 1000 V to 2500 V.
The measured voltage on the measuring object with an insulation resistance of more than 10 MΩ does not differ from the set value by more than 10%.
Rated current 1 mA. The maximum value of the current in the circuit of the measured resistance is 2 mA.
The megohmmeter belongs to measuring equipment of accuracy class 2.5 according to DSTU OIML R 34:2014 Accuracy classes of measuring equipment.The limits of the permissible relative basic error of insulation resistance measurement do not exceed ± 2.5% of the measured resistance.
The megaohmmeter has performance depending on the ambient air temperature of the working conditions of use:
- ЦС0202-1 – ambient air temperature of working conditions of application from minus 10 ° С to plus 55 ° С;
- ЦС0202-2 – ambient air temperature of working conditions of use from minus 30 ° С to plus 55 ° С.
Indication of the measurement results of the megohmmeter is digital four-digit with a floating point, for execution of CS0202-1 – on a symbolic liquid crystal indicator, and for execution of CS0202-2 – on a symbolic OLED indicator.
The power supply of the megohmmeter is eight Ni-MH batteries of AA size with a nominal voltage of 1.2 V and a capacity of at least 2 A·h. Instead of batteries, it is allowed to use AA batteries with a nominal voltage of 1.5 V.
The megohmmeter can be powered from a BPS 12-0.7 power supply unit or a network adapter with a voltage from 9.8 V to 12 V with a load current of at least 0.7 A, which are connected to the connector for charging batteries (central socket – ” plus” power supply, power connector DJK-11A (d=2.1×5.5).
The current consumption of the megaohmmeter from batteries is no more than:
- 0.5 A to perform TSS0202-1;
- 0.7 A for execution of CS0202-2.
The megohmmeter has the following modes of operation when measuring insulation resistance:
- automatic;
- manual;
- mode “Work on capacity.
A megohmmeter also performs:
- determination of the presence of an external rms voltage of alternating current with a frequency of 50 Hz in the range from 10 V to 500 V;
- blocking the measurement of insulation resistance if there is a voltage on the object of more than 40 V;
- saving in memory the results of the last ten measurements of insulation resistance, absorption coefficient, polarization coefficient and measuring voltage;
- automatic shutdown of the megohmmeter when the power supply voltage drops below 9.8 V (power supply from an external source) or when the battery voltage drops to the set level;
- automatic capacity discharge of the measuring object;
- automatic disconnection from the power source no more than 100 s after the end of the measurement or after releasing any of the control buttons;
indication of the degree of battery charge; - charge the batteries from the mains power supply unit or from the car’s on-board network through the cigarette lighter socket, using the car adapter from the delivery kit.
The time to establish the working mode is no more than 5 s.
The time for setting the megohmmeter readings, after the first result is lit on the indicator, is no more than 15 s if the capacitance of the measurement object is up to 0.1 mF.
The duration of operation of the megohmmeter with power supply from the mains adapter is not limited.
The number of megohmmeter measurements, when powered by batteries in automatic measurement mode, is at least 500 under normal conditions of use with fully charged batteries.
Degree of protection of the megohmmeter housing IP42 according to DSTU EN 60529:2014 Degrees of protection provided by casings (IR Code).
The overall dimensions are no more than 220 mm x 156 mm x 61 mm.
The mass of the megohmmeter with the remaining set is no more than 1.2 kg.
